Welcome Back!

websiteWelcome back Islanders for a new year! We have a lot planned for this semester as we continue to grow and find new ways to serve you here at the Newman Center (including this great new website thanks to Domingo Hiracheta!). Of course we have Mass at 11 am and 8 pm every Sunday starting this weekend, January 18th, but we have opportunities for prayer and growth all week long.

Our Men’s and Women’s groups will meet on alternating Mondays. Learn more about your faith through our Catholicism 101 series on the Sacraments every Tuesday. Take some time out for God on Wednesdays for daily Mass at 12:15 followed by free lunch. Islander Catholic nights every Wednesday are a chance to have some fun, build relationships with fellow students, and grow closer to God. Starting in Lent, we have Eucharistic Adoration for 4 hours every Friday. Start the weekend out right by keeping Christ at the center of your life. Keep an eye out for news from our Service Committee as we find ways to give back to the community in the name of Christ with monthly service projects. And our Social Committee is already working on some great parties and events. In February, the Newman Centers in Corpus Christi and Kingsville will be coming together to begin offering Awakening Retreats in the diocese. Check out the calendar for all the events and programs!

For I know well the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for harm, to give you a future with hope. –Jeremiah 29:11
