Catholic Podcasts Worth a Listen, Pt. 1

posted in: Featured 0

Podcasts can be a great way to inject a little bit of faith, theology, and culture into your day. With so many options, it can be overwhelming. So, to help, over the next several weeks, we will be giving recommendations and descriptions of some Catholic podcasts worth checking out.

You may recognize Fr. Mike Schmitz from his Ascension Presents videos on Facebook and YouTube. You may have heard him speak at SEEK, Steubenville Conferences, or other national events. However, his day job is serving as the chaplain at the Newman Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Minnesota Duluth. That means he has not one but two great podcasts to check out.

Through Ascension Press, his Fr. Mike Schmitz Catholic Podcast gives listeners 8-10 minute discussions on faith, pop culture and the recent headlines. Always timely and accessible, this is a great option for your walk or drive to class. On iTunes  On Player FM

For a bit more, his homilies from UMD are also available as a podcast. Targeted to his students, but great for anyone, these homilies are a powerful way to dig into the readings of the week and see how they apply to your daily life. On iTunes  On PlayerFM
